Applications of string theory

String theory is very much criticized for not making contact with experimental results. I don't think this is enough reason to abandon it. After all, it has general relativity and gauge theory in it! Anyway, in the Latin American String School, which is just ending in Bariloche, the students received a kit to remind them how important the applications of strings are. See the picture below. The title in Spanish reads Applications of String Theory.

using strings shows indeed an application of a branch of Mathematics named Knot Theory.

That is right! And Jones polynomials are related to topological field theories in 3D, not to strings...
